What Joe Biden Victory means for Climate Activism (Free Report)

Under Biden, we might see a path forward for transformative green policies and increasingly militant organizing. In an unprecedented pledge, Biden has specifically promised 1.5m new units of green affordable housing, 4m building retrofits (half commercial, half housing), and has promised to fund green retrofits of schools and electrify school buses, to decarbonize the postal service. In the best case scenario, these investments would also propel the decarbonization of building materials and the greening of global supply chains in ways that prioritize workers, indigenous rights and justice.

After four years of President Donald Trump's denying the science of climate change and dismantling or rolling back more than 100 environmental protections, climate experts knew the stakes in the election could not have been higher. American don't have time for four more years of bailing out failing fossil fuel companies and four more years of moving backward. Most climate activists have applauded Biden's climate plan, which includes investing $2 trillion over four years and aims to achieve a 100 percent clean electricity standard by 2035.

The Biden administration could be active in rolling out regulations that are designed to limit greenhouse gas emission and those that minimize climate risk in future on public and private assets. That could include supporting the national adoption of fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks like those that have been introduced by California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Several climate activits and environmental organizations were very much delighted with the news of Biden being elected as the president. When Joe Biden clinched the presidency Saturday, climate activists breathed a sigh of relief. ¡°Welcome back America!¡± tweeted the mayor of Paris. Referencing the Paris climate accord that Trump pulled out of, Anne Hidalgo called Biden¡¯s victory ¡°a beautiful symbol to act more than ever together against the climate emergency.¡± Biden has promised that U.S will join Paris Climate Agreement on first day of his office.

I myself was very much delighted with news of Biden getting the presidency of most powerful country of the world. Biden has mentioned in bringing many reforms in energy sector as well. Though talking about Biden is more of a political issue but since this election will have changed the fate of one of the largest greenhouse gas emitting gas country USA, so I had to share my views in the topic.

    Hello Sagar,
    this is your mentor WooJoo.

Thank you for sharing such an interesting report with us.
Many of the leaders, industries, organizations of the world have been trying to act together for Low Carbon society, sustainable city, climate change action etc.
We can't force someone to act with us, but yes, we should keep trying our work and keep enhancing our awareness, and trying to increase theirs too.
As a green activist, such plans are welcoming qnd hopefully they are successfully achieved within few years.

Thank you once again for your contribution to Tunza community.

    Regards,
    WooJoo
