On 16th October 5 PM Nepali time, Tunza Eco Generation was involved as a supporting partner in conducting a webinar titled Status of National Food Policies. Mr Rajendra Uprety, Spokeperson of Province No. 1 was the main guest for facilitating the session. The session was attended by around 40 participants mostly from Institute of Forestry, Hetauda, IOF, Pokhara and Kafcol Forestry College, Kathmandu. The program was well received by the audience and played part in motivating participants. Hult Prize IOF was the main organizer , ICT frame was media partner , Tunza was supporting partner and Hult Prize at GPCAR was the Outreach partner of the event.

This year Hult Prize is organized globally with the theme of Food For Good all over the world. The winner of the competition will get a cash prize of 1 lakh $ and need to execute an idea which will impact globally and create massive job opportunities for people. Hult Prize at Institute of Forestry On Campus is one of the campus chapter and has been promoting entrepreneural ecosystem in the campus. Mr. Uprety addressed the importance of agriculture entrepreneurship and suggested many measures for revolutionizing agriculture sector. He also highlighted the hurdles prevalent in Nepalese law that is preventing entrepreneurial ecosystem from booming in Nepal. The session was very much insightful and interactive as well.

On behalf of Tunza Eco Generation, I was the representative for the program and I stated the urgent need of promotion of agriculture entrepreneurship within the country for proper development. Despite having good food policies, they are not implemented well and Nepal is lagging behind in several aspects of food security. There is also need to promote resilient agriculture technology within the nation. I believe that such programs are very useful for promotion of agribusiness in Nepal. I will like to thank every participants for their active participation. I hope to organize such programs in near future as well.
