Chasing Ice is a one of the best documentric movie directed by Mr. Jeff Orlowski. Though its his first feature movie, he made it so brilliantly that you will disagree that its his maiden movie venture. I spent this quarantine time watching various Netflix movies and series. Though I rarely watch documentries, I had to give it a try after one of my friend recommended me to watch. And after watching it, I am happy that he recommended it to me. The movie starts with a real life character James Balog, who happens to be photographer as well in real life. He begins his journey with the sole aim of collecting evidences of climate change. Among several commercial oriented and documentries movie, I found it realy genuine and worth-watching. It is very rare to see a movie regarding climate change with so much information, visual attraction and entertainnment. The 75 minute long movie was directed with the intent of promoting message regarding climate change through transmedia communication. Orlowski wants the viewers to see reality of glacial melting and how rapidly climate change is happening in various parts of the world. He wants us all to be responsive and take necessary actions to prevent climate change and conserve our habitat. It was principally shot in Alaska, Montana, Greenland and Iceland. The movie was shot with risks and uncertainities as crew had to shoot in adverse and difficult conditions. I was loved by the astonishing cinematography of the movie. As a science student, we generally tend to believe on the things which are experientially proved. And Director Jeff has taken the lead to showcase the visual proof to all the contradicting individuals. I urge people to watch this movie as it shows the dark truth of the environment. I personally feel that such movies must be made in great scale. When many environmental films are financed by fossil-fuel industries, Chasing Ice is one of the rare gem made by environementally lover Jeff. I wish to watch more of such movies in days to come. |

I've never watched it, but I believe that your recommendation would be informative and helpful for those that care about the environment, and also for those that need some kind of education to gather with eco-warriers.
Glaciers melting is a huge problem, since the animals are losing their homes and the water level is rising.
I appreciate your work, and I think it is bit short.
I would like to hear more about your thoughts according to this movie.

Green cheers from India! I have once read an account of an individual's experience in Antarctica where he said that viewing melting glaciers made him see and realize the extent of harm done to environment. I deeply agree with message of the movie and would definitely see it soon!
