World Environment Day Campaign Report -3 (Free Report)

by Kushal Naharki | 06-06-2020 11:23 recommendations 0

As I mentioned in my earlier report, we will be posting different aspects of the environment each day commencing from May 30 to world environment day to acknowledge the value of every small element of the environment operating together to form such a diverse domain through Youth Thinkers¡¯ Society Lamjung as a campaign of World Environment Day. Here I bring you the posts of June 3rd to World Environment Day June 5th

Visit https://www.facebook.com/YTSLamjung to get connected with the all the posts on facebook.

Day 5- 3rd June

There is diversity in everything and everywhere so does in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems which symbolize ecosystem diversity. There is variation in ecosystems, such as deserts, forests, grassland, wetlands, and oceans.

Ecological diversity is the largest scale of biodiversity, and within each ecosystem, there is a great deal of both species and genetic diversity. Biodiversity boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, has an important role to play. It's a sad thing to hear that, issues like global warming, deforestation, urbanization, nuclear pollution etc. has disturbed the beauty of the ecosystem. Alas ! the main reason are the human beings. So, people should take some time from their busy life, have a sense of realization of the degradation they are creating and together work for the conservative of nature. After all, at the end of the day, the lap of nature is all we need.

Day 6- 4th June

Water is uniquely vulnerable to pollution. Known as a ¡°universal solvent,¡± water can dissolve more substances than any other liquid on earth.

"Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.¡± Yet while we all know water is crucial for life, we trash it anyway. Even though water resources are abundant throughout the world in the form of snow covers, rivers, springs, lakes, and groundwater but most of the water resources have been adversely polluted via human activities due to which quality drinking water has become a worldwide matter of concern. People are unaware and the aware ones are not drawing attention towards the problem.

So, treatment such as municipal wastage treatment, on-site sanitation, and safely managed sanitation, industrial wastewater treatment, agricultural wastewater treatment, erosion and sediment control from construction sites, etc ...could be great initiatives to maintain the sanity of the water. Conserving nature is our responsibility and let's be responsible. Start it from today, if you haven't been responsible yet. Remember, It's never too late to start.

Day 7- 5th June

The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature.

For instance, each year, marine plants produce more than half of our atmosphere's oxygen, and a mature tree cleans our air, absorbing 22 kilos of carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen in exchange.

Despite all the benefits that our nature gives us, we still mistreat it. So, from now onwards let's put our joint effort to minimize the pollution we do and celebrate biodiversity on this World Environment Day with the theme ¡®Time for Nature¡¯ by planting more trees, avoiding single-use plastic, using alternative energy sources, and rainwater harvesting.

Hello Kushal Naharki, this is mentor Taehyun!

Thank you for your article on genetic diversity! I think the part that people can easily think about is related to ecological diversity. Especially, since many of us are not interested in animals other than the ones we see around us, ecosystem diversity is less interested than other global environmental issues. I hope we can promote it to people more!

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
