The marine ecosystem includes: marshes, tidal zones, estuaries, the mangrove forest, lagoons, sea grass beds, the sea floor, and the coral reefs.Marine ecosystems are the largest of Earth's aquatic ecosystems and are distinguished by waters that have a high salt content. Marine ecosystems are characterized by the biological community of organisms that they are associated with and their physical environment.
Marine ecosystems also provide other important services, associated with their regulatory and habitat functions, such as pollution control, storm protection, flood control, habitat for species, and shoreline stabilization The marine biome is the biggest biome in the world! It covers about 70% of the earth. It includes five main oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic, and Southern, as well as many smaller Gulfs and Bays. Marine regions are usually very salty!Healthy marine ecosystems are important for society since they provide services including food security, feed for livestock , raw materials for medicines, building materials from coral rock and sand, and natural defenses against hazards such as coastal erosion and inundation. A food chain is a single pathway connecting a producer with several levels of consumers. In a typical marine food chain, dinoflagellates convert energy from sunlight into food through photosynthesis and store it in their tissues. .Marine ecosystems can be defined as the interaction of plants, animals, and the marine environment. By ¡°marine,¡± we mean of, or produced by, the sea or ocean. ... As over 70% of Earth's surface is covered in water, and 97% of that water is salt water, marine ecosystems are the largest types of ecosystems on the planet. |

Hello Dibya
Considering the size of well balanced biodiversity of the oceans and the benefits we could get from them, pollution of those oceans will heavily impact the human society. Some people seem to be ignorant about the importance of the ocean, since it seems to be far away from the ground, where people live. However, one should keep in mind that every human being indirectly interact with marine ecosystem, for example through foods. I hope the precious marine nature is preserved and no more areas of it is polluted with wastes.
Thank you for the great report!

Hey Dibya!
It's Lisa.
Indeed the marine ecosystem plays a critical role in our nature and we should definitely work to protect the environment. You have well put some of the ways that we can practice in our daily lives to contribute to protecting the marine environment. Among many you have mentioned, I think not using single-use plastics and avoiding the products with microbeads are somethings that we can easily practice.
Let's change our habits to make changes!
Green cheers!
