KHAAG- the Nepali movie based on the Book" 4 years For the Rhino" by Kamal Jung Kunwar -Kunwar is the former chief conservation warden and the head of the Anti-poaching Operation Unit, 2003- 2007 of Chitwan National Park (CNP) and in sum up 'The Rhino(One horned) Conservation Hero of Nepal. The Book "4 years For the Rhino"( Published date: 2009) is fully based on his experience (ups and downs) as an Anti-poaching Operation Unit (2003-2007) during his efforts to combat Rhino poaching in Chitwan National Park of Nepal. KHAAG, the Nepali word which got the meaning Rhino Horn was the Nepali movie of 2019 which was based on his book which tells us about how the Rhino Conservation was initiated in Nepal and what was the ups and downs that were raised during 2003-2007 in Chitwan National Park. As per the history, 37 rhinos were killed by poachers in single year 2002 AD, bringing many conservationist to find out the approach to save the endangered one-horned rhino from extinction in the country. In 2003. Kunwar acquire the post as the head of the Anti-poaching Operation Unit in CNP. Prabin Khatiwada (A Nepalese Actor) played the role of Kunwar. Major Achievements: Rhino Populations in Chitwan National Park: 2005= 372 in number 2015=605 in CNP and 645 in Nepal Nepal was the first country to celebrate the zero poaching year of Rhino in 2011. Till 2018, Nepal was successful in celebrating five times a zero poaching year of rhinos. And the key person behind these Achievements in Rhino Conservation is Mr. KAMAL JUNG KUNWAR, the Rhino Conservation Hero of Nepal. I can see just from your report there was an environmental hero behind the preservation of the rhinos. This kind of film that is based on the real story is really interesting to me. It seems like the movie really brought some major changes!
I have only seen rhinos in zoos in my country. I heard that even in those countries that used to be the habitats of wild rhinos are now able to see them in the zoos as well which I think is a tragedy. If we don't want this to happen, I think making movies like this and watching them support them is really important!
I'll make sure to watch the movie as well!
