Ban on Plastic bags

by Fayaz Muhammad | 30-11-2019 02:09 recommendations 0

I have arranged session for School Student at Nagarparkar, thar, sindh, Pakistan discuss about ban on plastic bags.
plastic bags is a serious problem for the country because they pollute rivers. Indus River is the second-most polluted river in the world because of plastic waste. Plastic waste contamination of food and water affects people¡¯s health.Plastic cause damage to the environment during manufacturing and disposal because during manufacturing release harmful gases in environment,
Fossil-based plastics are not biodegrad¡©able and stay in the environment for 450 to 1,000 years. The plastic waste that ends up in the ocean every year is expected to double by 2025 and there would be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050. Plastic bags also kill animlas, birds, damage plants.
Pakistan federal government  using polythene bags  banned in Islamabad from Aug 14-2019. Pakistan 128th country to ban use of plastic bags, and the provinces will be informed of the policy so they can legislate for this issue.
Alternative to plastic bags, government is working to making cloth bags, also government distributed Cloth bags in different area of country.

=> Solution to control plastic
¡·Recycle plastic items
¡· Use own cloth bags means
    reusable shopping bags.
¡·put pressure on government
¡·Awareness Campaigns: ban on plastic bag
¡·stop using plastic cutlery
¡·Use silver lunch box instead of
   plastic
Dear all encourage your family members and other relative person about  today session ban on plastic bags and Promote recycle aim at our home/School means use of recyclable cutlery & reusable shopping bags.

    Hello Fayaz

I can see some revolutionary but necessary movement Pakistan. It can cause little bit of discomfort, but in the long term it will definitely benefit the whole planet. With the little interest, one can find plenty of ways to substitute plastic bags. I hope the day with no single animals in the earth suffer from the plastic wastes any more.

Thank you for the great report.

    Hey Fayaz!
    This is your mentor Lisa.

Plastic bag usage is also a huge problem in my country of Korea as well and there have been many campaigns and projects to resolve this issue. As you have well put, we do have to try hard to reduce usage because it is indeed a huge threat to our environment. Cloth bags are definitely alternatives to plastic bags but since carrying them around is not so convenient, people don't really use them often. What do you think would be some ways to incentivize people to carry around their own cloth bags?

Thanks for your contribution and nice job on holding a session!!
Also, I like how you have posted many photos:)
