Residents of Miliran village, Yogyakarta, complained about the drought that hit their own wells since two months ago. Residents suspect the drought was related to the existence of a settlement around them who also use wells to meet its water needs.
On Wednesday (06/08/2014) morning, a resident of Miliran village, Dodok Putra Bangsa (37), the theatrical staged in front of Fave Hotel, Yogyakarta. Theatrical action bath with soil is an activity that describes the drought that occurred in the wells of residents.
"For decades, the wells of residents in the Miliran village never drought, including the current drought. However, since two months ago, our wells dry. We suspect this has something to do with the activity of Fave Hotel here, "said Dodok after running the action.
Dodok revealed, drought occurs in approximately 50 wells, both bucket wells or wells that use the engine. According to him, the drought is not reasonable because Miliran village known as the region that has abundant groundwater reserves.
"I've tried to speak with the hotel management but there is no adequate response. So I was forced to hold these theatrics." He said.

Sad to know . If Milran village , inspite of having abundant groundwater resources , is drought hit means residents or commercial buildings around are not using water resources sustainably. There is a need to call for water conservation . Thanks for sharing. It must have been really severe drought that forced this man to act like this to draw attention of hotel authorities.

its very bad condition that the people has suffered from the drought in the Miliran village. the underground water has to be recharged continuously so that the water will be available continuously. And may be due to the lack of the recharging due to concrete of the hotel the drought might have been occurred. Thanks for sharing the action it might make people realised the things as that might be happens to other places as well.
