The way to save water

by | 14-08-2014 20:22 recommendations 0

Even though water covers 70 percent of the Earth, less than percent of that is clean water suitable for human consumption. To save clean water, I will inform three methods to save water.

Firstly, you should take shorter shower. You should take a timer into the bathroom with you, challenge yourself to cut down your showering time, and shave outside the shower, or turn off the shower while you shave.

Secondly, you should cover your swimming pool, if you have it. This helps to prevent evaporation. In some places, emptying and refilling a pool is under severe restrictions, or even banned, so preserving this precious resource is crucial.

Thirdly, you should convert your toilet to low flush. You should place a plastic bottle of water in the tank to displace some of the water used for each flush and weigh the bottle down with pebbles or sand, if necessary.

Thanks for your tips, Doeun! That's cool how you converted your toilet to low flush... I never thought of doing it that way. I'd to share another tip: just before you take a shower, there's usually a period when the water is cold. If a person places a bucket there to catch the cold water and later uses that water to flush the toilet, it saves a lot of water :)
