People?s Climate March Hyderabad is aimed at highlighting the impacts of climate change that India is already witnessing and urges the Government to seriously consider and address the issue on all fronts.

The severity and frequency of the impacts of global warming are rising every year and that poses a grave threat to the large vulnerable population in India and elsewhere. From the devastating extreme-rains and floods in Uttarakhand to unseasonal hail storms in western India to dangerous droughts all across to back to back cyclones in the east coast, we are already witnessing an increasingly extreme weather future. Facing such large nos. of extreme climate events, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) had to declare the last decade (2001-2010) as ?the Decade of Climate Extremes?, and the current decade is showing no signs of letting up.

What we need is strong and swift political action by all nations, translated on the ground and as we know, that can only come through greater public mobilization and pressure.

The world leaders are coming to New York City for a UN summit on the climate crisis. UN Secretary?General Ban Ki-?oon is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution. We through (R)Evolution Let's Change Now ! showed that we care enough and want to be heard as-well.

We took up locations of strategic importance like the Charminar, Golconda Fort, Qutubshahi Tombs and one of the most important commercial locations, Rashtrapathi Road.

Students from various educational institutions supported the cause and urged that Climate Change is a priority and it needs to addressed keeping in view everyone.

Students from GITAM University Hyderabad Campus,Vardhaman College of EngineeringMatrusri Engineering College, Saidabad took active part in lending their voice to thePeople's Climate March.

And Yes, We were a part of the collective change against a common problem.

Because,
"We have the power today, to change tomorrow"

Thanks for sharing your efforts in spreading awareness thru such a March. Global warming is taking toll on human lives and entire eco-system . It's high time that each and every person is aware that there is a crisis and we need to do our bit to combat it's effects.

Well reported Abhay. Global warming is a warning by nature to the human population to take corrective measures else the destruction will continue at a larger scale.
People's Climate March in India or anywhere is a good initiative to spread awareness.
