Clean up Nepal last saturday (on 20th September,2014) conducted Nation Wide Clean Up campaign collaborating with various local organisation. In our city too, we held the event.
I was one of the core member of volunteering and our own eco club ?The Eco Minions? as well collaborated with Clean Up Nepal to make the day more special.
We started our program from Chaubiskoti and ended in Pulchowk. We cleaned both sides of road, cleared the weeds and unnecessary grasses that was invading road and make vehicles difficult to move swiftly, collected plastic wrappers, papers and so forth. At the end of the program, officers and some respected delegates gave speech on importance of cleanliness, participation of youth on social and environmental causes and encouraged us to launch such events regularly and periodically.
There was the wide participation of local women organisations, local people and youths along with armies, police and so on. Municipality officers were also present which helped us to boost our program.
Personally, i loved my duty of managing other volunteers, giving them instructions and assist them if any problem incurred.
We did enjoy the program. It felt great to work with our community and friends together to make our city and nation as a whole more clean and eventually healthy.

Well done "The Eco Minions" & particularly Rahul for sharing this report.
It feels nice, light & responsible after taking part in such clean up campaigns.
I believe that charity begins @ home. We must segregate the waste & dispose wisely.
Keep it up & all the best for more initiatives to come.

Excellent job. If the government isn't doing the job, its the people who do perhaps its the youth who do it. If that continues to follow, soon there will be nothing but a clean and healthy environment.

Garbage left on roads poses extreme health hazards to residents. It is ,therefore , the moral responsibility of every resident to regularly clean up the litter and manage their waste in very eco friendly manner. Such Clean up events convey the message very strongly and encourage all to play an active role in garbage clean up and other local environmental issues. Good job , Rahul. Thanks for sharing.
