EARTH DAY 2012 and BEYOND!

As Beyond Earth Day 2012, I got APPOINTED TODAY AS

          ENVIRONMENT CLUB PREFECT

AND PREFECT BEST BUDDIES also continuing as

HEAD GIRL FOR THE ARABIC CLUB

I am ready for the challenges and look forward to new opportunities, as I realize that my work is well appreciated, noticed and rewarded when I am given these platform to LEAD BY EXAMPLE and motivate others to join in.

Each year, Earth Day April 22 marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

2012 - Earth Day Network amassed 40 million environmental service actions toward its 2012 goal of A Billion Acts of Green, launched an international, 1-million tree planting initiative with Avatar director James Cameron as the fight for a clean environment continues in a climate of increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more manifest every day. I was a part of Earth Day initiatives which helped me channelize my energy and contribute to building a clean, healthy world for generations to come.

I engaged myself with many committed acts of green which included I will eat a sustainable healthy plantarian, pure vegetarian, vegan diet, eat more local food, help to organize an Earth Day Event and planting plants in my school garden- ALL OF WHICH I FULFILLED.

I started in the morning by planting a dozen plants in my school garden. My school Principal Mr. Michael Guzder, Supervisors and teachers were all together with me on this initiative and we made it a Great start of the day.  Thereafter, in my school I made a special EARTH DAY 2012, presentation to save and conserve our environment.  All my school mates, about 2000 in numbers along with teachers and faculty pledged to SAVE THE EARTH and ENGAGE IN GREEN ACTS, especially ensuring the throw the TETRA PAKS in the right BINS as they are placed in front of our school canteen.  For the evening I had volunteered to help EMIRATES WILDLIFE SOCIETY (EWS WWF) organize and conduct the GLOBAL SCREENING OF THE SPECIAL MOVE –

ONE DAY ON EARTH. It is a MUST WATCH MOVIE for all; as on October 10th, 2010 (10-10-10), thousands of inspired individuals, representing every nation of the world, filmed their perspective and contributed their voice to a collaborative global film project. We amassed over 3,000 hours of footage on the day. It explores our planet s identity and challenges in an attempt to answer the question: Who are we? ONE DAY ON EARTH creates a picture of humanity by recording a 24-hour period throughout every country in the world exploring a greater diversity of perspectives than ever seen before on screen. It follows characters and events that evolve throughout the day, interspersed with expansive global montages that explore the progression of life from birth, to death, to birth again. In the end, despite unprecedented challenges and tragedies throughout the world, we are reminded that every day we are alive there is hope and a choice to see a better future together.

Touching the topic of HOPE, Best Buddies is a group organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.  We recently did a CHARITY CONCERT FOR RAISING FUNDS FOR BEST BUDDIES also and I facilitated as the main narrator for TOGETHER WE CAN themed concert, which was well applauded and praised within the school and the community.

When we take care of people who need help and also our environment we do our part.
