DARE TO CARE TO THE ENVIRONMENT? WHY NOT?
at SMA N 1 Jepara

Pace for Badges Distribution Background
Climate change is one of significant changes of natural phenomenons especially in
climate such as unpredictible air temperature, flooding and drought during or more than 30 years.
It is not only brought about by natural processes, it is but also generated by
antrophogenics such as fossil fuel utilization, deforestation, forest degradation, pollution and so
forth. The Panel Committee of UNFCC revealed that climate change will generate big impacts
in which the impacts will be positively responded by natural system, but these will influence
other realms. Health, house and food will be threatened by climate change as well.
Mostly, humans are identified as the environmental destructors unnaturally. And, a view of
anthropogenic, they play roles directly and indirectly without counterbalancing the next, present,
and future influences for the future generations. Addressing these environmental problems in
Indonesia is not easily like turning hands.
It is necessary multi-stakeholder to tackle these problems. Such multi-stakeholders are
government, private and NGOs as well as individuals. It is a must due environmental decision
making, solution, and ethics cannot be separated and fragmented partially without encouraging
them. For instance, consider the issue of climate change in which decisions that we make today—
at the policy level and as individual consumers of energy and natural resources—will affect
all of humankind for generations to come.
One of the most innovative ways to address climate change is by educating students early
before doing inappropriate things to the environment. Education is subjected because of lack of
education about climate change. So, IGAF conducted real action through increasing
knowledge and understanding about climate change, and increased environmental awareness as a
very indispensable thing to reduce the impacts of climate change at SMA N 1 Jepara.
objectives
The objectives of the programme entitled the Increasing Environmental Awareness of Students through
YUNGA?s Environmental Badges were:
a. To advance students? awareness towards the environment
b. To escalate students? willingness for developing creative and innovative ideas with
regard to the environment
c. To give understanding and knowledge in detail about climate change and its negative
impacts.

IGAF has really done well after organizing the awareness program to the students , equipping them with knowledge and skills required to combat climate change in the days to come.
In order to combat climate change one should start from grass root level, so that the base is strong, and it starts with awareness and leading by example.
People should take initiation from the inner core of their heart in order to maintain sustainable environment. There should be co-operation among the general public, government and public stake holders so that the progress goes in right direction and the dream of clean and green earth would turn into reality.

Children of today are tomorrow's leaders and they need to be equipped for tomorrow's challenges. They need to be environmentally educated . They need to be made aware of environmental crisis the world is in today and their role to solve that.
    Good initiative , Achmad.

This is the issue remain to many people's heart, but still there is a large section around us who are not very bothered about the dark consequences...Children are the key to develop the future brigade who can be the part of change process itself...good job done!!

    Well done Achman!
    Impressive show.
I fully agree that our actions shall affect the future generations. As the actions of our predecessors have affected us badly. The damage to the environment during our generation is the most severe in the history of existence of human beings.
This us also true that the fast paced developments also happened in this period only. All Gadgets, technology, access to the luxury items.
All came with a price tag. And that is not cheap.
Educating the young ones is the most effective way of spreading environmental education.
DARE TO CARE TO THE ENVIRONMENT. OH YES!! FOR SURE...
    Thanks for your report.

Well that is a wonderful article there Achmad Moslem. I have also the same belief that if children were to be introduced to issues of climate change @ much younger stages more could be achieved. At a tender age children are mostly willing to get indulged into doing as much as they can get onto their plate because of their agility,curiosity-willingness to learn and discover and they are adventurous. if taught well it may stick on and sink in for most of their lives-of-course. Lets not forget to award them as a form of motivation. All the best to SMA N 1 and all the participants.
