This year the World Future Energy Summit, the largest gathering on Future Energy, was held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 19 - 22 January. And for the first time I got to being a part of the event.
The event saw nearly 30,000 delegates from 170 different countries, representing expertise from industry, technology, finance and government taking part in the event. The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander.
The World population is expected to rise to a staggering 9 billion by 2050. This increases the energy, food and resource requirements by more than 50% which needs to be met all the while keeping in our mind the environmental degradation problems.
Even important is the fact that nearly 1.3 billion people have no access to any form of energy resources at all.
To counter these, countries are coming together and pledging to improve energy services keeping in mind the environment. And for this is the World Energy summit in pursuit of securing a reliable source of sustainable energy to the World.
My visit to WFES was an enriching experience on sustainable future energy solutions. The beautifully designed stalls made from recycled materials, especially those of Bee?ah, Tadweer, Dulsco and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry made me stand awestruck.
I visited many stalls interacted with the delegates. The brochures also included comprehensive information on the proposed projects of the exhibitors.
I would encourage all Eco Generation members to take part in similar exhibitions or summits whenever they are within your reach.

Thank you for sharing the experience. As you mentioned, it's inevitable to see 9 billion of people and limited resources in near future. So finding alternative source(must be clean) is the key for our sustainable future. Not far future. It's about when we turn into our 20's and 30's.
What was the most interesting stall for you, Humaid? :)

Yes, Humaid. The World Future Energy Summit is one of the most famous sustainability summits in the world, where many like-minded leaders gathered to discuss and debate environmental issues at hand. It was hosted by Abu dhabi as a part of the initiative ¡®Abu Dhabi Sustainability week 2015??. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the summit last year and since then I have written articles on the summit and how preeminent it is in giving UAE an international standing in sustainability. Thanks for sharing your enriching experience:)

Such exhibitions give new ideas about upcycling , energy saving technologies and systems, efforts being taken and planned to be taken by UAE in the direction of sustainable development. Like the table on which you are sitting in one of the pictures is made of recycled cartons and papers. Even Bee'ah logo on their booth looks so nice -beautifully made from cartons, papers.
No doubt , Bee'ah got the award of "Most sustainable exhibition".
Thanks for sharing your experience , Humaid.

Dear Humaid I am happy to hear about your enriched experience of participating in WFES :) Yeah for sure with the increasing population the demand for resources and energy is upsurging. It is our utmost essential to find the sustainable solutions for increasing demand. Little drops of water make a save, the wisest way is to save energy and use energy sources economically. Thank you for sharing your experience :)
