We must have heard a lot about plastics and its effect. We also know about recycling of plastics and advantages of it.
To know about recycling industries nearby and how they are working in our locality today I along with some of my friends including Aksana Dallakoti(E-gen member) and Prashant Bhandari(E-gen member) went to the plastic factories after doing our classes. The factory was nearby the market.
There we saw how the plastics are recycled. First of they collect the plastics, and then wash them to remove any dirt or foreign materials. Then they dry them up and cut them into small pieces. After that they melt those pieces and send them to different machines to make new products.
The recycle products were mainly wrapping plastics, some water pipelines and ropes (used especially to wrap boxes and egg carts).
At the same time, we also came to know about ?Suiro? program launched by ?Association of Plastic Businessman? in which they would keep the plastics in long and thin metal rod( which is made J shape). This was done to ensure the dryness of plastic and also prevent from the dirt (As plastics get contaminated with many dirt and other materials when kept in dustbin thus increasing the cost of recycling. But storing plastic only at the rod would prevent them from contact of such ?other materials?). We loved the idea as it was easy to carry out and implement at houses, schools and dormitories as well.
According to director of Suiro program, almost 12 tons of plastic are in demand everyday at industries of Bharatpur alone. And if we can only provide them the recyclable product, just imagine how much we save the carbon emission and reduce the footprint daily.
This way we came to know about how actually the plastics are recycled and how we can contribute to prevent environmental pollution simply by recycling the plastics.

Arushi, thanks for reading report :) Yes we were too unknown about such a high demand of recycled plastics by industries. And like you have pointed, recycling instead of throwing was there main theme.

but its great treasure if known"

Thanks , Rahul, for sharing your first hand experience at plastic recycling factory. Glad to know that there is so much of demand of plastics which can be met by recyled plastics. Nice knowing the steps involved in making plastics ready for recycling . I hope and wish many more people get serious and start collecting plastics for recycling(rather than throwing ) to reduce our carbon footprint.

Thank you for sharing so vivid strory about the factory. I do waste segregation everyday and am very happy to know the segregated plastic wastes get a new life in that kind of factory and contribute to reducing co2 emission. You and othet E-gen members did a fantastic work :)
