MWEKA EDUCATION CENTER — The Roots & Shoots Kilimanjaro Conservation and Education Site in Mweka Village has a diversified ecosystem, ideal for demonstrating irrigation and agricultural techniques. Last year marked the creation of the JGR&S Education Site Task Force Committee (TFC). Their current projects include a Climate Change Youth Summit, expansion of the library and educational center, and sourcing income for the tree nursery and gardens at the site. In addition, TFC is responsible for a publication examining the ecological impact of human activity on Mount Kilimanjaro, and detailing the resources available to the community.
