Those who are not tracking this, this is one of the most ambitious green project in the field of aviation in recent times, which aims at highlighting the importance of renewable energy and the spirit of innovation. The aircraft?s wings are covered by more than 17,000 solar cells that recharge the plane?s batteries. It flies ideally at around 25 knots, or 45 km/h.Solar Impulse-2 is slated to make 12 stops during its 35,000-km journey, including in China and Myanmar, before it crosses over the Pacific Ocean. It will then land in Hawaii and the US Midwest and East Coast before flying over the Atlantic Ocean. It may also stop in southern Europe or North Africa, depending on weather conditions.
If this entire trip is successful, it will open a new chapter in green travel around the world and so everybody is tracking this flight path all over the world...Even all of us can track the flight online through their website (www.solarimpulse.com), which is fully loaded with many interactive facilities like chatting, live status, photos etc..

This is Great news Unmesh.
The longest stretch of non-stop flight of Solar Impulse II shall be 5 days & 5 nights over the pacific ocean. The pilots can take a maximum 20 min nap in that period.
Incredible Indeed.
All the best to them & wish them a safe completion of this world tour.

Thank you for sharing this incredible news!
It's as surprising as man landing on the moon for me.
It's really a meaningful leap toward the era of renewable energy resources.
I couldn't imaging that it would make it that far cross the ocean.
