World Water Day is marked on 22 March every year. This year's theme for World Water Day was 'Water and Sustainable Development ?and as part of the celebrations Ecopro Initiative teamed with Small Axe Environmental Youth Group ,TLC4 –Environment , Young Volunteers for Environment , Water Resource Management Authority among others in organizing a clean up and bamboo planting activity as a way to educate the community on values of sustainable natural resource management. According to UN 2014, 884 million people in the world lack access to safe water supplies i.e. approximately one in nine people.
WHO report indicates that diarrhea is the second leading cause of child death in the world today, and the top cause of child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa. This diarrhea is caused by poor sanitation, hygiene, or dirty drinking water every minute a child dies of a water-related disease. Therefore Water resources, and the range of services they provide, underpin poverty reduction, economic growth and social and environmental sustainability.
Organizing World Water Event was an eye –opener and Lessons learned have an impact on our roles as young people taking actions to lead community change and raising our voices to get heard through collaboration and creativity .Children and Youths are recognized in Agenda 21 as Key stakeholders in Sustainable Development, Children and Youths are not only the future generation but also the current generations.
Sustainable resource management will not be achieved if we do not collaborate, to achieve our aims and targets, we need to create partnerships with other NGOs, Private sector representatives, gender focused groups, youth groups so as to encourage and mobilize more and more people to join and support our good cause .

Great and meaningful way to celebrate World Water Day.
Strategic tree planting in dry areas can ease water shortages that climate change threatens to make.
You are right . Sustainable resource management needs co-operation and collaboration among all segments -NGOs , Privates, youth and all communities .
Thanks for sharing your report. Keep it up!
