World water day - be aware and pl spread the message

by | 24-03-2015 02:38 recommendations 0

22nd march was the World Water Day, an initiative by United Nations aimed to celebrate clean water and bring attention to those who don?t have enough of it.  World Water Day warns about a increasing shortage, wastage of water which is regarded as the probable cause for 3rd world war in future!!!
Few interesting facts may be very useful to note in this regard:

1) If the entire world's water is considered in a 4 litre jug, accessible fresh water is only 1 tea spoon!!
2) 1 in each 9 people in this world has no access to water (11%)
3) In this world, in each 20 second, a child is dying because of illness due to bad quality of water
4) each day the sun evaporates a trillion tons of water from earth.
5) It takes 91 litres of water to produce 1 pint of beer...

Request everybody to look into the photographs below to understand the scarcity of water and it's impact in many places in developing and under developed countries...Pl save water...

Thank you for sharing the information, Unmesh. For those who don't have access to fresh water, thirst can be the most painful feeling during their entire life. If we have the access, we should feel thanks and try to reserve it as clean as it has been for very long time.

Melancholic pictures reflecting water crisis. It is predicted that the next possible war will be regarding water rights (hopefully it won't) Saving water is saving life.
Though March 22 is representational day to celebrate World Water Day, our actions should be directed towards saving existing water in any way possible.
Thank you for sharing this report and some useful information :)

The people in the pictures deserve a salute for striving so much to provide water to their families as well as themselves in taxing and onerous times like these:(
The pictures also indicates strongly that the "water problem" is no more an everyday problem, it is a large scale crisis. Thanks for the report Unmesh.
