Bam meets Philippine Presidential Adviser on Climate Change

by Bam Azores | 15-07-2012 08:41 recommendations 0

Eco-Gen Ambassador Bam Azores was a volunteer in the Pilipinas Students In Free Enterprise National Finals in Makati City on July 6 and 7, 2012.  He was lucky to meet the Presidential Adviser on Climate Change, Secretary Elisea Gozun, who was the Philippine Representative to the Rio+20 Summit. Bam explained what Tunza Eco-Generation is to the Secretary and she told him to keep up the good work.

Secretary Gozun's message to the young people in the event is:
"The consequences of climate change which include - rainfall variability, increasing temperature, rising sea level and more extreme weather - impact on all sectors and on the lives of all Filipinos.  These realities of climate change are in fact what people call the "new normal".  The long term solution to these problems which includes mitigation (reducing releases of greenhouse gases like CO2) and adaptation which reduces risks rests in creating a generation that improves their communities and helps the earth as a way of life."

Secretary Gozun was glad to meet Eco-Gen Ambassador Bam and his brother, Antonio (also an Eco-Gen member).
