On 10th June 2015 me and some of my colleagues got together to do a planting of some Brazilian native trees and also manage a little bit the soil of the non-profit organization "Casa do Bom Menino".
The "Casa do Bom Menino" is a shelter for children and youth who are vulnerable within society and obtain familiar or justice problems. Unfortunately, there is a sort of abandoned site located in the back side of the institution.
The plan is to reforest the area with a diverse range of plants including Brazilain native trees, herbaceous, flowers, medicine plants and fruit trees. At the same time we have a lot of things to solve such as removing of all waste that there is in the backyard as well as unpack the soil. Furthermore, the idea is to recover the harmed land and we also intend to apply environmental educational concepts into the "Casa do Bom Menino" members. I strongly believe that education is the main way to change humans and planet situation which in the past years have been suffering tremendous negative impacts. Therefore, in light of the planting activity and soil management we hope to keep our track and fight for a better world for every type of life that exist in our "Mother Earth". The air will be more purified, birds and insects will come up to the site, worms will start to better explore the underground and we, humans, "Casa do Bom Menino" members shall feel much better with a nature atmosphere around their shelter. |

Luiz, proud of you and your team. You have identified an abandoned land and are trying to reforest the area. Good initiative , keep it up!Environmental education is very important to be taught theoretically and practically which is what you are doing bang on in a great way.
I can imagine the land before and can see the impact of plants through the picture , the place looks so neat , green and healthy.

Indeed Luiz, education is the main way to change humans and planet situation and education becomes effective only by talking but mainly by acting.
