Climate change and my feeling |
---|
Everyone is univocal with the fact Climate change is horrendous( 97% scientist saying it in unison backed by concrete facts and figures). With over population, exploitation of natural resources, deforestation and excessive dependency on fossil fuels discarding every other possible and feasible renewable alternatives all but have become common norms. Despite massive awareness, all the high level negotiation and conference by National/ International organisations and Government officials, developed and developing countries are reluctant to adopt the methods. Former are denying their charges and latter are considering ?Environment norms? as hindrance to their developing process. Further they have tagged ?Climate Change? merely propaganda of handful of prosperous countries. It doesn't matter who is to be blamed or who is to be reimbursed. Our earth is heating up and swelling. And future of youths are in limbo. Mothers of rural area are not being able to feed their children. Malnutrition and hunger has become new ?Balance Diet?.Farmers conditions are deteriorating day by day due to continuous decrease in the yield. Mercury level continues to escalate and biodiversity are being lost at the rate 1000 times greater than natural one. New cases of diseases(both plants and animals) are becoming epidemic and then pandemic. We are flushing out all the precious gifts of nature. Thus creating chaos and unfathomable situations. While I was buying vegetables at street vendor, I overheard two women talking about how hotter days are going. One even complained about her declining vegetable production. That?s why she has to come at market regularly. The case is true at my own house. Despite all cautions and treatment, Okra failed to fruit in our farm and cucumbers grew in faint quantity. We used to have our own home grown spinach that suffice whole year. However, case couldn?t be same this year. That?s just an example of ramification of Climate change and how its invading everyone?s life. As an agriculture student and fervent admirer of environment, I am worried about sharp declining in the agriculture production. Erratic rainfall is the new pattern of rainfall here in our time. June/July months is considered rainy season in Nepal and by the mid of the July paddy transplantation should have been already completed. Per contra, only 25% has been cultivated/transplanted so far. With delay in cultivation, its certain production will remarkably decrease. This often reminds me the statement my grandfather often repeated ,?Son, Look above the sky. If you see the clear sky on nights of June then count the number of stars. You will go hungry that much day.? I get cold feet when i realize the essence of his statement. Its happening folks. We are already feeling the change in one way or another. So in whichever corner you are, its time we take action. Its time for us to translate all those commitment we had taken on various occasion into action. If you are an agriculturalist, teach about Climate Smart Agriculture, SRI technique. If your are scientist, share your findings. If you are media person, share your knowledge and spread the message highlight climate change issues.. If you are businessman, adopt eco friendly models in your business. Act from where you live. Share your knowledge. Nurture children and inculcate green habits in them. Show elder how to be responsible for the environment in which we shared our whole lives. Don?t let your voice be left unheard. We have no planet B. Cheers planeeters!!! #climatetracker #call4climate |

No doubt that climate change is univocal and the impacts are visible in day to day life. It is the greatest challenge for our generation and of course we should act possible from our level.
Together we can :)

Thanks for an inspiring report. It is definitely top priority to act and fight against climate change by adopting eco friendly lifestyles , by teaching younger ones , by sharing with elders, by spreading awareness as much as possible. Every action counts. #Timetoact #call4climate action.
