Some poeple ask why is the environment important? the answer is because it is the only home we have. Many ecologists and experts believe that we can reverse some of the harm our planet has suffered. The challenge is getting enough people to take drastic action so that we can make a difference in our lifetime. The simplest explanation about why the environment matters is that, it is where we live, breathe, eat, raise our children etc. Our entire life support system is dependent on the well-being of all the species living on earth.

We must build the momentum for green revolution and thus initiated the process of environment education for sensitizing school children, their parents and teaching community on various environmental aspects.

The best exemple of new awareness initiatives are awareness paintings for children on the walls of primary schools , teaching children about ecologic issues and ecologic awareness kits and more initiatives by EL Bahdja association Bordj Bou Arreridj , this association got on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of independence in Algeria the award for best community work contributing to the ecologic citizenship and environmental protection.

It is an association that has aims to promote the mobilization of young people through cultural, ecological, citizenship training, sports and recreation. Reintegrate disadvantaged young people into more suitable socio -economic backgrounds. Support the concept of the common good and fair and gendered sharing of resources and interests.

Current Actions of El Bahdja association : will contribute to develop the project "BAHDJET EL MOHIT" (eng: the joy of the environment)  an ecological educational project conducted last year "in May 2014 - November 2014" in the city of Bordj Bou Arreridj in partnership with the association and Ghaith EL financed the Embassy of France in Algeria, the concept is to make an extension of the original project activities by broadening the area of ​​intervention and the number of beneficiaries, in order to help awaken young eco-citizens sense of city ​​of Bordj Bou Arreridj, a strategic plan is designed as follows: Organize training in the association of a gendered team of 12 young people (7 members of the association El Bahdja , 3 members of the association and El Ghaith 2 painter Artists) on the theme (eco-citizenship), training will be provided by a specialized framer. An education campaign will then be provided by 10 facilitators trained and strengthened by a leaflet designed in a way to attract young people has targeted readers, be nearly 12,000 young athletes and sports fans, places of interventions are: Athletic Clubs , Spaces for the sporting event. and according to the programs sporting events anticipated by management of youth and sports. Both painter artists formed the theme will intervene at 6 primary education schools (be 2,400 children) to make murals with animated messages illustrating good ecological gestures.

Upcoming Projects:

The SET TO MAINTAIN OUR NATURE OF DIVERSITY project is an educational-environmental project funded by the International Union for the Backup IUCN environment. The project idea is to make awareness of nearly 10,000 school children (5 years to 16 years) on the issues of biodiversity, and for arrival this was a strategic plan in response: Prepare a team of young volunteers will be responsible for the assistance and conduct of the project throughout its duration by organizing thematic training on issues of biodiversity, then we will move on to the design and implementation of sensitization tools that will be: A booklet cartoon characters designed to teach young children the concept of biodiversity. Developing a video game for PC "Windows Platform" which tests are safeguarding the diversity of a virtual natural world. - An exclusive tool in our country -. Prepare a play about the conservation of nature. After the acquisition of the tools a second training on animation and the use of tools for 12 facilitators already trained on biodiversity for effective response at 60 schools nearly 10000 students.
