These days, I'm thinking myself, how lucky I am. I'm proud myself to introduce what Brazil is like , what kinds of culture we have , our development and value through introduce of environmental issue in Brazil. It has already been about over 4months since I started to be ambassador of Brazil so that people across the world in TUNZA have become familiar to Brazil and inspired each other with much information.

Here is another environment issue but interesting story again! Have you heard about "the true luxury of sustainable fashion"? People usually associate the fashion with luxury or rich, which seems not to have anything to do with environment. However, these days some Brazilian brands have invested in collections whose manufacturing is less detrimental to the environment keeping pace with new runway trends-eco friendly product.

One of the example brand is Oskeln, which has been producing the products with "E-Fabric tag". It was created to inform the buyer the eco-friendly origin of the items and for the first time in Brazil, this brand start to neutralize their carbon footprint. This brand also export to 40 countries which are conscious of environment question.

Furthermore the brand "Movin" from Rio de Janeiro uses organic cotton. Bamboo, recycle PET from local Brazilian supplies. Brazil's popular footwear company "Havaianas" have a partnership with the Institution for Ecological Research in Brazil, which accounts for 7% of its revenue for institute research. They maximize reuse the scraps and funds projects for the protection for local endangered species.

Interestingly, Brazilians have begun to value and be interested in the eco-friendly trend. People become more willing to pay for the eco-sound products. Even though the cost of these products are still more expensive than normal ones, I expect that these are getting popular to access to the middle class so that many Brazilian have "the true luxury of sustainable fashion".

If every company can raise their concern of environment, we would have a lot less to worry about. Bog companies play such large roles in deciding the fate of nature. They can create a drastic change positively or sometimes the other way round too. Thanks for sharing, Luiz.

Arushi, you are right on saying that government should offer subsidies and tax relief. They are essential for the success of the idea.

It's glad to know that Brazil is also into eco-fabrics! I am from the Philippines and I am also glad to share that our country's Textile Research Institute had institutionalized the blending of synthetic fibers with local, natural fibers. By doing so, lesser synthetic fibers are used, imported and integrated in commercial fabrics. In fact, our country passed a law that states "all government uniforms must contain at least 15% natural, local fibers or 5% locally-produced silk". I have also done a study before on the blending process of natural and synthetic fibers for fabrics and got me a chance to go to Intel ISEF. :)

I also feel proud of you who shares environmental news in Brazil almost real-time speed.
I agree with what Arushi commented. If the government gives advantages to the eco-friendly companies like them, there will be many more companies like them creating new green business trend. :)

Glad to know that Brazilian brands & consumers have started to think of eco friendly fashion . I hope these are made affordable so that their outreach is more to have bigger positive impact on environment. Govt should offer subsidies , tax relief etc to such manufacturers so that their cost becomes reasonable for lower middle class consumers as well.
