WWF and Education Projects in Brazil

by Luiz Bispo | 28-07-2015 12:43 recommendations 0

What is the most efficient way to raise general awareness about the environment issue? What is the best way to find the sustainable solution in near future? I think the education for the youth is the answer. There is no doubt that knowledge is the one of the important property that we have to offer. The none-profit organization "Casa no bom menino"  that I work also focus on environment education through my practical project.

Today I would like to introduce about WWF's conservation efforts for environment education. I have mentioned WWF organization many times in my previous articles. However, I have not covered this organization in detail before. World Wide Fund for Nature launched in 1961 and has became one of the world's largest independent conservation organizations last the 50 years.

Interestingly, the logo of this organization is Panda. They were chosen because of their attractive feature and arrived at London Zoo in the same year when WWF was created. They consider them as symbol of overcoming all language barriers. This organization put an effort to protect biodiversity and accomplish over 100countries on five continents.

In particular, WWF in Brazil has pursued environment education and general awareness. In Sao Paulo, WWF and partners progress the community education as part of conservation projects. It is necessary to have information and skills to make a proper decision for sustainable management of natural resource. Teaching relevant knowledge to local people will be helpful to prevent environmental damage and poverty.

However, unfortunately, even though there are a few promising non formal education projects in Brazil, they have a difficulty continuing a long-term plan and education due to lack of funding and technical resources. I believe that education has a strong power to change the world. I'm also able to have my dream with education in school. I hope that there are many supporters appeared to giving opportunities to the youth.

WWF has taken a great initiative.Imparting education to local people about the environmental problems in their area will play a major role in reducing them. That is infact the best way to make people aware about the damage being done to the planet by humans.Education hence is the best medium to resolve this issue. Thanks for sharing!

It is rightly said "Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world". Happy to note that WWF in Sao Paulo has considered community education as part of their conservation efforts. Unless people are educated or made aware of global environmental issues , environmental values do's and don'ts , they won't be able to act mindfully and in the most eco-friendly manner. To be able to adopt sustainability in daily lives , people need to know what is sustainability. Education is of vital significance to solve any issue be it climate change or anything. Thanks for sharing , Luiz.

Thanks for introducing WWF. informal and formal education are both essential and we need to ad hoc in such informational program where essence of biodiversity and environment conservation are explained in detail.

    Thanks for the share mate.
