|BRAZIL| Climate Tower in Brazil

by Luiz Bispo | 09-09-2015 09:34 recommendations 0

There are many ways to analyze and predict the climate change in the world. Interestingly, in Brazil, the tall tower was just constructed completely to help to understand the climate change.

This tower has a 325 meter height, which is taller than Eiffel Tower in France. The tower named Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) will start to collect the data about on heat, water, cloud formation, carbon absorption and weather patterns.

The height of ATTO will enable to investigate the distant alteration and movement of air. As many people already know, the deforestation of Amazon areas will be a major cause of carbon emission.

Scientists have installed the equipment to understand the sources and sinks of greenhouse gases.

The Max Planck Institute, the Brazilian National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) and the University of the State of Amazonas are the project members with ATTO and they will focus on the rain forest role in the formation of aerosol particles.

In Aug, 2015, German and Brazil decided to take an action for climate change together. Chancellor Angela Merkel from German and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff will cooperate to reducing deforestation in the Amazon to zero by 2030.

After this meeting, Germany donated ?23m to build Amazon Observatory to Monitor Climate Change such as tower. Before, UK also cooperated with Brazil to study carbon cycle in the Amazon.

Wow! This is interesting Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) is built in Brazil for the purpose of understanding climate change phenomena. I am sure the tower will contribute to the expected objective of research/
Thanks for sharing dear Luiz, keep updating us the progress :)

It's quite interesting to note that 'Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory' is constructed to collect data and then analyse and predict climate change. Pl do keep us updated on it.
Glad to know that Germany and Brazil are collaboratively acting on Climate Change and will work to minimise deforestation by 2030. It's good that other countries like UK are co-operating too. Thanks for an informative and interesting report , Luiz.

Unmesh, yes. The tower is operating. I do believe that there are some datas collected. I will research about that. Thanks for the comment. =)

Thanks for reporting, Luiz. I hope Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory will report the alteration and movement of air as effectively as planned.
These are important tools to analyse & take corrective actions.
