Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life UAE Pavilion

by Simran Vedvyas | 12-09-2015 01:03 recommendations 0

We learned to live with little water, with the sun. We had to be inventive to work together at UAE Pavilion Milan Expo 2015.

The story narrated by Sara titled The Family Tree, in the impressive surround panoramic theatre is mind-blowing and worth the forty-five minutes in queue before one gets to enter UAE pavilion at the Expo Milan 2015. An impressive and lively pavilion that is demountable and likely to re-build in the UAE. Undoubtedly the impact and impression made by the UAE pavilion in Expo Milan 2015 is spectacular and successfully portrays to weaves a blend of the past, present and future of the ever-ambitious UAE.

I visited the Expo Milan 2015, in my capacity of Youth Ambassador & Founder SynergY UAE, to explore the theme, evaluate the contrast in themes for this much-talked and super controversial expo gaining first hand insight.

Exploring the theme

Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life running for six months, at Expo 2015 located at northwest of the center of Milan and accessible from the Rho Metro Station. The exposition site is said to cover 110 hectares covering 272 acres and is hopeful to attract more than 20 million visitors during 01 May 2015 to 31 October 2015, Contrasting to this in 2020 Dubai s World Expo will be held under the theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, echoing the powerful spirit of partnership and co-operation that has driven the UAE s success in pioneering new paths of development and innovation. Through this theme, Expo 2020 Dubai aspires to serve as a catalyst, connecting minds from around the world and inspiring participants to mobilize around shared challenges during a World Expo of unprecedented global scope.  Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 25 million visits, 70 percent of which will be from overseas. This will be the first Expo in which the majority of visitors will visit from beyond a nation s borders, unlike the 20 percent figure of Expo Milan 2015 Running from 20 October 2020 through 10 April 2021, the Expo will also launch the country s Golden Jubilee celebration.

The Expo Milan is a food paradise as The Eataly, gourmet delight area offers food from each of Italy s 20 regions. Even the vegetarians can find a meal to serene their appetite.  Alongside this also showcases some very interesting and strange art.  There are cultural activities and shows happening at the pavilions and many activities for children and adults alike.

Cannot be missed is the 37 meters high Tree of Life planted in the water of the lake Arena.  The sophisticated bubble, lights, fountains make it an awesome relaxing and meeting point for the expo visitors. So many cultural activities happening, with food and festivity.

In the pictures below you can see large number of people waiting outside the pavilion, amazing feel.
