Celebrating international Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer |

Finally we had our September 16 celebrated as ?International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer?. Due to coinciding with Teej ( biggest 3-4 day long festival of Nepalese Women) and also with many of our professors being busy at University?s crucial meetings, we couldn?t invite musch guest speakers. Nevertheless, we celebrated the festive of Ozone at our own. Organiser: The program was organised by Leo Club of Chitwan Central, The Eco Minions and us Tunza Eco Generation Ambassador. Venue: Veterinary Seminar Hall, Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur Chitwan The program was started at around 1 PM. Whole program was carried out at two session. At first UNEP Ozone video was shown. After that we had guest speech from past president of Lions club of Chitwan Central Lions Dr. Krishna Kaphle, associate professor. Shortly after guest lecture, we had video presentation. We showed importance of Ozone, condition of Ozone Hole and how can we prevent them. After that I gave my presentation on Montreal Protocol, Vienna Convention, reason behind celebration of Ozone layer. Also to quench the thirst of ?relevance of Ozone Layer Depletion to Agriculturalist, Veterinary and Fisheries, I showed them harmful and detrimental effect of UV rays and other data. On the second session, we had group division. Each participants were divided into different groups and we gave them 20 minutes of time to prepare for ?Strategies of Preventing further Ozone Layer Depletion by Developing and Developed Nations?. We had group presentation which was followed by our small reward to the best group. The best group was selected based on their depth of understanding, use of supplied resources, creativity and style of presentation. This was we concluded our Ozone Day Celebration. We went outside to take the group photo with O3 sign. Utilising the occasion, I distributed Tunza Eco Generation Pen to all the participants and provided them Post it note. It was a great program with meaningful videos and informative presentation by respected Dr. Krishna Kafle sir. Glad to be a part but sorry for not being able to attend the second session due to ill health :(

You guys really gave a true meaning to 'International Day for preservation of Ozone layer' by celebrating it , seeing UNEP ozone video , discussing on strategies to prevent Ozone layer depletion. Thanks for sharing and inspiring, Rahul.
