Air pollution in Khartoum

by | 17-09-2015 02:07 recommendations 0

Air pollution is becoming a series issue not only in Sudan but in the world as well, since the early 21th century as we hit by the wave of establishing factories in Khartoum, now you can notice the big chimneys puffing smoke in the air, it's becoming very clear because it is in the heart of the capital, of course at the beginning it was far from citizens but since we have wars in Sudan and people are emigrates to Khartoum it became at the heart of it.

According to the higher senate of environment and urban uplift the statics showed that the cause of pollution are burning tires and smoke came from factories and cars exhausts, clearing that the contravention indicates to industrial institutions is 28%, the one related to providing stocks and ventilation are 22%, lower internal environment in industrial institutions is 19% and 44% for accumulated trashed in some neighbourhoods. And most of all we are missing existing of crematories specialized for medical trashes.

Because of the lack of information and data we can't estimate an exact number of air pollution, also there is no clear policy from government towards air pollution, because of the smoke and emission of greenhouse gases we face a real issue with high temperature and instability in rains that's affecting directly the people of Sudan cause they depend mainly on agriculture and grazing.
