BIRTHDAY PLANTATION |

Before human civilization , Earth had about 5.6 trillion trees.Every year 1.5 billion trees are cut down with only another 5 billion trees planted.It is essential to make up for all the trees we loose because trees are beautiful , special, and have great benifits to human civilization and our ecosystem.
Plantation , though , does not need special day, we can nonetheless make event unforgetable by picking special day. Youth for conservation and sustainable agriculture ( YCSA ) , an youth led organization of Institute of Agriculture And Animal Science , Paklihawa has been conducting several activities to save nature and environment since its establishment. It recently initated innovative idea of celebrating one's birthday by planting a tree along with merry making and blowing candles with an objectives of : Instilling sense of responsibility in the youths. : Making each individual feel that they arebthe one to contribute to restore greenary. : Expressing personal intimacy with nature. : Alarm the negative consequence of earth without greenary. The organization provides sapling in their special day as well as do event management facilitating the celebration making it special.Two of my friends Anita and Bibash who had birthday on the same day (september 22) celebrated their birthday together planting a sapling of Nolina recurvata with the belief of enduring friendship , celebrating birthday and more than that inspirig people to plant trees and save nature.The plantation location was selected carefully near the hostel so that caretaking will be easy,It was inspiring to see them planting saplings , settinng an example of their stewardship towards nature and environment , taking oath with great enthusiasm.Other youths passing by stopped , joined the event , inspired us while they were counting fingers to their birthdays. WHEN EVERY INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTE WHAT HE CAN TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT , THERE WILL BE NO WONDER HAPPENING :)

Birthday plantation is really a very good individual effort towards environment and I just wish it becomes a trend. I am campaigning for 'Birthday/anniversary plantations'.
