On 5th. Nov?15  , I went to Kendriya Vidalaya - 2, GCF, Jabalpur, India to spread the word of Tunza Eco Generation and encourage the students to be a part of green initiatives and  take green action at local level.  To make them  members of the Tunza eco -gen, I guided them  and showed the system of updation of the details.

This is one of the most renowned school in our city Jabalpur.  This is a double storied co-education  school for class – 1 to  class – XII, more than 1000. students are  studying in the day session. There 1803 such Kendriya Vidyalayas ( in English means – central school ) has branches all over India and even abroad , which are well managed by the Government of India  .

Mrs. Reena Chakravorty  , the principal of the school is a very active lady who has been constantly motivating her students for green projects and has developed a beautiful infrastructure of  the school with the support of Government of India.  The school is very neat and clean and the students are  disciplined. Around 60 students participated in my presentation along with their Science Teachers  Mrs. Kirti Bala Yadav and Mr. Prakash .

It has been noticed that, various green initiatives are being taken by the school and various projects are conducted by school?s Eco club. The Principal shared that, their school stood 4th among 193 school which participated this year in the national level ? Green your school contest 2015?  . The school has been invited in the flagship event Green Building Congress from 19th November – 21st November at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

I presented various initiatives of Tunza eco - gen through a  power point presentation, including ambassador report, essay contests, scope to take part in the Global Youth Eco –leadership Summit .   I shared the history about the formation of  the organization , the current year  theme ,  the activity of 60 ambassadors and support extended by the Samsung Engineering.

On discussion I came to know that,  under the guidance of  the science Teachers  Mrs. Kirti Bala Yadav and Mrs. Usha  this year 2 group became winner in Nation Children Science Congress 2015 regional level and the team will take part in the national level NCSC at Mumbai, India this month.  The teachers drive the students for various green activity like plantation, No plastic drive, attend school by Bicycles, to avoid misuse of energy and water etc which I will share in future reports.

By the power point presentation,  I have shared the information of the essay contest , for which  the last date for submission has been extend up to10th. Nov?15. found most of the students are interested to take part in the contest.  The resources available online are related to air, water , energy etc.  was shown to the students by connecting to the website and  for the energy related information readily available , which will help them write the essay effectively.

Most of the students are  attached with Facebook and twitter , but after learning about  Tunza Eco generation they are  very happy and requested me to open their account for them.  The information shared in the Card of Tunza Eco gen was explained and they were happy to receive pens whose body is made of recycled papers.

Lastly we took a group photograph that the school stage. All the participating students along with the principal came down from the 1st. floor and supported me to take photographs . Posted here are the pictures of the students and along with the principal .

I enjoyed interacting with new friends  and  was lucky to get  blessings   from an able principal like Mrs. Reena Chakravorty.
