|BRAZIL| The environmental tragedy

by Luiz Bispo | 22-11-2015 06:04 recommendations 0

I am sure some of you know about this news. Anyway, I am sharing.

People died, animals died, trees are broken, the whole ecosystem id damaged. It happened due to the collapse of two mining dams in Minas Gerais state (southeast Brazil).

A toxic mud run down a river and polluted the water sources. A village was destroyed and some people died.

That is a tragedy and what is sad is the fact that it was due to people irresponsibility or human greed.

The authorities is working out to recover the area and the damages. There was a fine bill to the mining company of millions of Reais (Brazil's currency).

Some people are going to the area for volunteering work and some developed countries are supporting the mission as well.

  • Arushi Madan says :
I read about this tragic collapse of two dams at a Brazilian mine. It's really unfortunate, it's has cut off drinking water for quarter of a million people . It's true that this mining flood could wreck the ecosystem for years to come. I just hope that victims get relief fast and the region recovers from this devastation soon enough. Thanks for sharing , Luiz.

The scene is so devastating Luiz. Such a irresponsible action. This mining co. must be forced to bring back this village to normal by cleaning & rehabilitating.
