New Philippine Law to Make Communities Safe vs. Climate Change |

Philippine President Benigno C. Aquino III signed into law the People?s Survival Fund (PSF) which allows for implementation of local climate change action plans that can make communities safer vs. the effects of climate change. The PSF for regular funding for climate change adaptation programs and projects of the government set at P1 billion per year. But of course they welcome donations, grants and contributions over and above the PSF. The Climate Change Commission Chairperson Lucille Sering said: ?Now, we can make our communities safer from the adverse effects of climate change.? |
