My new year's resolution |
---|
My new years resolutions goes a little like this: Switch of lights when not in use. This is something I often forgot to do after I get out of the bathroom in the morning as it is cold and I run straight to my room once I get out, but this year. I want to change that. I have promised myself that this year, I will live in a more eco-friendly way. Along with the help of my family of course. Plug off cables when not in use. I constantly leave my chargers plugged in my room as it makes it easier for me to charge my phone, but now, I?ve realized that by leaving my chargers plugged for hours without using it actually consumes a lot of electrical energy. By plugging these chargers of, I am living sustainably and decreasing the amount of fossil fuel I use. Carry my own shopping bag. I?ve been trying to do this for a while now. Bringing my own shopping bag to the supermarket instead of using plastic bags. For when I shop a lot of groceries, I usually ask them to put it in a cardboard box but for small groceries, I use the plastic bags they give me. I want to change that habit. From this year on, I will keep fabric shopping bags in my car and in my bag for when I need to have a quick stop at the grocery store, or any stores for that matter. Planting more. I will persuade people to join me in my journey in planting more. We don't need a large garden to make this possible. I plant with the things in my kitchen such as cans and old paint containers coming from my dad's factory. These things may sound simple, but by doing so and practising it everyday in our family, we can make a huge difference. This would decrease our carbon footprint in our homes. Start small and create big things. |
