WWF, The Nature Conservacy, Association of Indonesian Primate Experts, and other private organizations gave this statement after doing research in recent years.
In 2007, as many as 750-1800 orangutans die in Indonesia. Thousand of orangutans? death occurred in subsequent years. Then, from a 9983 interview respondents in 687 villages in the three provinces of Kalimantan between April 2008 and September 2009, found at least 750 orangutans had been killed.
More than half of the respondents were interviewed even admitted after killed orangutans, they ate the flesh of the orangutan. Orangutans are killed because disturbing the plants owned by residents. Mainly because it is considered a pest of coconut palm.
According to the research conducted Caregivers Association and the Indonesian Primate Researcher (Perhappi) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC), April 2008 to September 2009, showed a "grabbing space" between humans and orangutans.
Ironically, there has been no reaction from the government about that tragedy. Indonesia's forestry ministry Parties are also not given any comment on that issue. And see more evidence of the skull, skin, and body parts lay strewn orangutans in the forest, this is a terrible fact
Based on the results of studies from 2006 until now, research has been conducted ground surveys have even managed to make about 74 km transect and successfully observed the 1500 nest tree with a nest was found about 2,400 orangutans. Of the area, referring to the closure of the forest and ground survey, it is estimated there are around 2500-3000 orangutans in Kutai.
Looking back at 1990, the number of orangutans in Borneo land is estimated at 230 thousands. In 2007, the figure predicted 54 thousands. Then, in 2010, particularly in Kutai, 2500-3000 orangutans only shrink so. Overall, the Kalimantan orangutan population is estimated at 50 thousands only.

It's so sad that the orangutans are killed just for human's convenience.
In terms of humanism and biodiversity, the government should take some measure.
