On 9 - 11 November 2012, I and my friends from Agent of Green Love Community MAPALA were doing a 'green action' in a famous mountain in central Java, the Mount Lawu. Mt.Lawu is the highest mountain in Central Java with the highest peak in Hargo Dumilah with altitude 3265 meters above sea level. Lawu also highly in demand by local and foreign climbers for its beautiful scenery, especially when viewed from the peak. The Green Action that we were doing we call the 'Tapak Lawu'. What we have to do is a initiative movement to not throwing trash on the mountain, especially on the Mt. Lawu. We do it because of the lack of people and the climbers on the mountain to keep Lawu clean. Lots of trash and mineral water bottles are scattered around the mountain. If we do nothing about it, then the natural charm of Mt. Lawu will be lost. When we set out to make a climb, we have seen a lot of mineral water bottles thrown away. So in our way, every person required to collect garbage in the vicinity. As a result, when we got to the post last shelter, we have collected a lot of junk in trash bags. And then, we had to stay in the post to restore energy. The next morning, we went straight to the peak. The distance between the last shelter and a peak is close enough so we left all the items we carry are, including carrier bags and trash bags that has been collected. At the top, we all took pictures together with unique styles. Truly a very enjoyable moment and experience.
