Green Brigade monthly meeting & release of 1st Newsletter

by | 02-12-2012 04:21 recommendations 0

Within the 'Green Brigade', we had held our monthly meeting in September regarding action plans and other events that we will be undertaking. During the meeting, it was decided that each month, some of our members will take the responsibility to give a presentation on some of the topic for the benefit of others in the group. In the month of September, I made a presentation on SLCPs (Short Lived Climate Pollutants) and the harmful effects that can happen because of the spread of such pollutants. The meeting was very interactive with people continually asking a lot of questions. It highlighted the need for enforcing certain basic actions that we can undertake while sitting at the heart of our own homes. We could just stop burning the gas for too long or even start using refrigerators that  use minimal CFCs or HFCs.

But the meeting did not stop there. We discussed and talked upon various news around the world. We also discussed on the plans or the steps that we can take next, to give our best services to the help of mother earth. Here,we decided that we will have a Poster/drawing competition for the children planned in December-12 and a neighborhood cleaning and door to door campaign in January-13 and a 'Water Conservation' campaign again in other areas as the next step. This is just a small step towards doing something good to the society.

We also have released our first newsletter entitled ?Green Vision?. It is a significant step by our group in trying to do something worthwhile for spreading  environmental awareness among the people. And that is why we had entrusted the making of our newsletter to our superb and creative editors. And what a job they did!!!! Within just a span of 10 days, a newsletter of this proportion was ready. When I first looked at it, it just blew me away and at the first sight, it looked amazing. The real surprise was inside when peoplr saw all of our members contributing something wonderful to this infant webzine of ours. All those who wish to look at the e-version (We're eco-friendly, right??? So no wasting paper...) can download the same from the following link:
