QUEEN OF THE SUN-What are the Bees telling us I attended the EEG?s 12th Community Lecture for the year 2012 where the movie Queen of the Sun - What are the Bees Telling Us? Was screened. I strongly recommend everyone to watch this movie. I learnt some amazing facts about Bees, and how important they have been to us since ages and how fast their colonies are disappearing due to Human Intervention. How important and crucial it is for man to save the Bees from disappearing and refrain from doing the Huge harm it is already doing by use of harmful pesticides and chemicals on the nature. How much harm is coming to plantations and agriculture by Human acts is to be seriously thought about and damage repair implemented. Some rare and amazing facts to share- Ever wondered Why We Need Bees? ?because these Natures Tiny Workers Put Food on Our Tables. I quote- Every third bite of food you take, thank a bee or other pollinator. Adapted from E.O. Wilson, forgotten pollinators, 1996 Bees Keep Our Economy Humming Without bees to spread seeds, many plants—including food crops—would die off. Bees Are Disappearing Around the World because of a number of interwoven factors Global warming, Pesticide used on farms, Habitat loss brought about by development Did You Know- Beekeepers use smoke to calm bees when they are collecting honey of relocating a hive Disclaimer- Some photo shots for report purpose and to raise awareness |

Yes Christy Very Well quoted, the movie really gave a serious thought because the harm the pesticides are doing to our crops, bees and certainly to human health is a disaster which really needs to be checked and the damage repaired well in time before its too late

Albert Einstein said that "There will be no more tomorrow if bees disappear from the earth". Without bee, the plant can't reproduce. Thus it means the end of human civilization.

Thanks Christy, this movie also highlighted this fact and YES heavy use of pesticides is really to be blamed for colonies of bees to disappear...which in years to come will create a great damage and imbalance.

@ Rajashree, Thanks, honestly the first shot of the movie was so creepy, like the poster with bees all over but as the movie progressed I understood the fact what you mentioned that Every Creature of God has different and very important role to play. We are so interdependent
