A Little Step ??..????. Towards a greener Tomorrow

by | 17-01-2013 16:11 recommendations 0

We all know that recycling paper is one way of reducing our ecological footprint by lowering the total amount of waste we produce. We also know the use of plastic bags is one of the biggest threats to our nature these days. Especially the ones which cannot be recycled. These harm our environment as they are non-bio degradable and pose a threat to our wildlife.

As the movement against use of plastic bags is gaining momentum, we at IHS made a little attempt to promote the use of paper bags. As the leader of the environment club, I along with the environment club members made approximately 80 plus bags in 2 hours? time and the bags were used in the school canteen .

To pass on the message to the families, theses bags had wonderful environment friendly messages. Various suggestions were given as to how small steps from our side can make this world a greener world.

What we need
1. Recycled paper (Use a thicker one to make a strong one!).
2. Glue.
3. A pair of Scissors.
4. Markers

Steps to follow

1.      Cut the brown paper according to the specific size.

2.      Take the paper sheet and fold it along its length in such a manner that the length of one part is at least 1 cm more than the other & paste it with a glue.

3.      Fold each side of the bag in same width. In this case, we folded in 1 inch.

4.      Fold the bottom of the bag. In this case, we folded in about 2 inches. Then, paste it

5.      Write down your environment messages on these bags.

Hope you have as much fun as we all did?

Go green :D

The merit is yours. I love your action..this is inovative idea that develops my understanding of the alternative utilization of used paper. Stop illegal looging in the natural forest, the pulp n paper industries must obey that regulation (no raw material of woods which comes from natural forests). I love also the petition of Greenpeace to APKI-Indonesia.

This is a really great initiative! We can plant this program to schools of Korea also.
Then the participants can both raise their awareness on the environment and have fun.
    Thank you Simran, great job!!

yap, to decrease the using of plastics bag we can use paper bag or cloth bag. Since last year, i and my friends initiate a clothing bag from waste clothe. Btw, thanks for the sharing.
