Impacts of climate change are being felt all over the world: the sea level rise, tropical storms ravage the coasts, formerly fertile land are now flooded or totally dried and permafrost melts in the polar regions. Although Africa contributes relatively little to global warming, the region also suffers from its effects.
More than 180 million people in sub-Saharan Africa could die because of climate change by the end of the century. The inability to predict rainfall patterns, reduced harvests, rising food prices and dwindling natural resources are already causing increased human migration, conflicts and tensions. Rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns could also create new habitats for pathogens such as mosquitoes, and open up new areas to contamination by dengue, yellow fever and malaria. |

Yep! Global warming is not just a scientific theory anymore. It is being felt in all parts of the world. We need to take stronger actions before the problem gets even worse.
