In my university called Jahangirnagar university, so many trees are destroyed in the name of beautification. In many developing areas, so called powerful people are doing the same. We have to stop them by hook or cook. Our university environmentalists are doing rally, procession etc. any idea what should be done? |

You can be the exemplary by planting and safeguarding trees to those who destroy them..

Why do people think cutting a tree is "beautification".
To me, a place full of trees and forests are much more beautiful.
I don't know if this will work...but how about tying yourself to a tree that is going to be cut?

EVERY TIME THEY CUT A TREE DOWN...YOU PLANT A TREE AND MAKE SURE IT IS STATED LOUD AND CLEAR BY PRESS, MEDIA TAKING PICTURES OF ONE SIDE THEM CUTTING TREES MARKED WITH X AND YOU PLANTING MARKED ( RIGHT ). PRINT OUT AND DISTRIBUTE LEAFLETS AND TRY TO ALARM LOCAL COMMUNITY AND AUTHORITIES TOO..MAY BE IT HELPS

Maybe you could sign a petition and submit it to the government... Or maybe you could cooperate with environmentalists from other universities. That way, more people would listen to your voices.. :D
