Making Other People Happy

by Bam Azores | 21-03-2013 21:38 recommendations 0

I just got an idea from Simran's Ambassador Report. She asked the question about "what makes you happy?"
I had an experience that made me happy last Tuesday. I went with my classmates to a place called Tondo in Manila.  This is known to be one of the poorest places in our country. The nuns that run my school have a convent there and they help the poor people in any way they can. They arranged for us students to get a chance to immerse ourselves in the lives of the poor people.
I learned that the people there no matter how poor they are can be happy in their simple way of life. We cooked for them and they appreciated everything we did for them. I am thankful for the chance to join this exposure and to get to know the people of Tondo.

What a beautiful moment you have! One of ways to be happier is to focus on things we already have and to feel gratitude on them. Thank you for sharing beautiful pictures. I got also happy, thanks to you :)

Thank You Bam for the mention and I am so happy to see this touching report.
To me also something like this would give great Happiness.
I really liked the Part- "no matter how poor they are can be happy in their simple way of life." That is the essence. Not in Greed which many of us cannot get over with.
    :-)

It was quite an experience. We stayed with one family for the day. Helped them clean and cook their meal, take care of the kids. Inspite of being poor, they were happy as a family.
