Post Holi Report |

This is my post Holi report and here I describe that how fun and conservation can go hand in hand. Some simple steps made the whole thing environmentally better and surprisingly much more fun! . Oh! Holi is over. But this Holi was tremendously fun and eco-friendly too. This time I and all my friends switched to dry Holi to save water. We spent the eve of Holi preparing natural colors at home. I never knew that the whole process would be so much fun. We brought about a considerable amount of decrement in our time of playing with colors. We focused on things like snacks and reduced the time slot for other things. This prevented wastage of the materialistic things. As a result, we used minimum amount of colors! This minimal use had another benefit. We wasted lesser water washing the colors off ourselves. There was absolutely no use of any kind of spray. And yes, even balloons were not thrown! Though a lot were received! . After the celebration we could feel the pride of acting green. Now this is going to be the story of every successive year. The best part is that we were able to convince many about playing an eco-friendly Holi without speaking a word. The live demonstration of how much fun and absolutely non harmful our Holi was, made others be attracted to eco-friendly by themselves. . I am really glad to mention that in the wake of the severe drought plaguing the state of Maharashtra, Mumbaikers had decided to do their bit to avoid water wastage during the festive season of Holi. So, this Holi was mostly a dry Holi in Mumbai. . Although our neighbors showered the colored water on us many a times but I would sum up mentioning that we successfully were able to celebrate a dry and ecofriendly Holi this time and will be making the upcoming ones greener! |
