How do you go to school or work in the morning? A lot of us will ride cars which cause global warming as well as traffic jams and noise. Yet there is a much better way to go to work, and that is to ride bicycles. That is why the city of Goyang developed FIFTEEN, a public bike rental system. It stands for the average speed of bicycles, which is 15 km/h. The system made its debut on March 2010 as the first in Korea, and has more than 125 bike rental stations all over the city.
How It?s Different Nowadays, we can use public bike rental systems in almost any major city around the world. Yet there are some characteristics that make FIFTEEN special.
While various other bike rental systems require users to sign up as members, all you need is a cellphone to use FIFTEEN. You just have to enter your phone number at the kiosk in the rental station, and type in the certification code that will be sent to your phone. The rental fee will be charged along with your phone bill at the end of the month. You can also buy daily cards at local convenient stores.
FIFTEEN is mainly for commuters unlike other bike rental systems that are targeted to travelers. Therefore, it has rental stations near office buildings and government offices such as Goyang City Hall. You can also find them near various middle and high schools. I can see many students and businesspeople in suits riding FIFTEEN in the morning.
You can see what you have done to the environment by riding FIFTEEN using the green calculator provided at the website. You can also calculate how much calories you?ve burned and money you saved. How to Use It There are currently 125 FIFTEEN stations in Goyang, and they will be added over the years. You just need your cellphone to ride FIFTEEN, as mentioned above. You can also buy daily cards at nearby convenient stores, or become a member if you?re planning to use FIFTEEN for over a month. For more information, search for fifteenlife on App Store or Play Market to download the FIFTEEN app. You can also visit the website (www.fifteenlife.com).

Great...we need to have facilities also to have a safe path for the bikers. This is really missing in countries like India as well as in UAE. thx for the report

If all countries will adapt the usage of bikes, then the world's will be cleaner.

hmm... that's a good idea! since a lot of students are here in our place, instead of havin' cars and tricycles, we can go to places and schools by bikes instead...
