On 4-Jan-13, it was the Accession Day of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He has issued a directive not to make any celebrations on this day, else he asked us to focus This year, we focus on a new group: general labor employees such as gardeners, janitors, construction workers, domestic workers among others. These groups play an active role in society. Some have spent many years doing a great job and they deserve a big ?Thank You? from all of us. Sheikh Mohammed is my ideal leader and keeping his wish in mind I approached many hypermarkets to explain about my project ?Serve the Heroes? being carried out since last year. I distribute Eatables & cool drinks to the laborers on the construction sites. LuLu & Ansar Mall handed over Water bottles, Cakes, Biscuits and fruits in large numbers.

On the morning of 04-Jan-13 we the volunteers of ?Serve the Heroes? consisting of students and adults, set off to distribute the eatables & drinks to the laborers on the construction sites with a big ?Thank You? from all of us.

First, we covered our pilot project ?Heart of Sharjah?. There were 40-50 construction workers on the site working. They were really happy to see students serving them with a smile on their faces & ?Thank You? on their lips. They accepted gracefully & satisfaction on the faces was immense contentment for us. Then, we headed towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road, as our car was fully loaded & swarming with the goodies for the workers, thanks for the generosity of the hypermarkets. There is a big construction project being carried out on the intersection of the road with Sharjah Airport road. At that time 200-250 workers were on the site. We covered all of them. All the volunteers were very enthusiastic & bubbling with energy. As we served the last worker on both sides of the intersection it was a feeling of fulfillment and kind of pride in fulfilling the wish of my beloved leader. Thank You His Highness for inspiring us.
