Bangladesh, the most vulnerable country due to Climate Change

by | 26-06-2013 04:50 recommendations 0

The recent report published by World Bank said that Bangladesh would be the most affected country due to climate change & global warming. It said that frequency of cyclones, food production reduction, livelihood challenge, infrastructure degradation etc may be intense extremely.

The sea level rise, flood level & damage, etc would be more devastating in the upcoming year. The Cyclone Sidr caused 3.45 million household inundation whereas it may bring 9.7 million people to move on from the coastal areas by 2050.

By 2080, about 40 % of agricultural land will go under water & will face serious scarcity of salinity in the southern region of the country. It is the time to realize to work to save the lowland countries like Bangladesh by the developed industrialized countries.

I remember having read that Brahmaputra is known as the river of sorrow because of the floods and losses caused. Even in India there has been change in the climate for the worse due to Global Warming.
