|SOUTH AMERICA| Sony CSR invest in Recycling

by Luiz Bispo | 23-02-2016 21:11 recommendations 0

Sony has a lot of offices in Latin America, including Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama and Peru.

Currently, the world is facing an environmental challenge. Therefore, government, industries, non-profit organizations and citizens need to do something in order to solve the issues.

Sony is a worldwide famous corporation and the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) sector of the firm set up a recycling program. It shows that even producing massive amount of electronics, the company is also committed to environmental issues. It is necessary to be aware of the environmental problems and so compensate in somehow. I hope they can do it better and better.

The recycling program called "Green Service Program" was launched in 2010. It aims to treat the useless products and forward to recycling systems instead of keeping the simple disposal way. In 2014, around 1,220 tons scrap were collected and processed to sustainable systems properly.

Moreover, the company has an environmental campaign named "Live the Change". The campaign intends to aware and to educate citizens about the importance of caring environment and the idea of recycling electronic waste.

For sure, the world is changing climate is changing and everyone stakeholder need to be used to lead with sustainable actions, projects and programs. Hopefully Latin nations and corporations shall create more programs like that.

I really hope other multi national organizations follow Sony in performing CSR activities. It was a nice read Luiz :)
