Utilizing rice husk to make black soap

by | 18-06-2016 23:36 recommendations 0

Vietnam is famous for producing rice. After each harvest, there will be a huge remainder of rice husk. Fire it or dispose it? What a waste! A group of students from University of Science and Technology of Hanoi did a project of making soap from rice husk and some other agents friendly to environment.

The students shared that soap is indispensable to daily life. However, many kinds of soap are made with bleach which can irritate consumers? skin. Therefore, they decide to make a special kind of soap which is harmless to the user and environment-friendly.

Besides, this product is made from activated carbon separated from rice husk, with just natural additives like turmeric starch, green tea powder, menthol, perilla extract and no preservatives and foaming agents but it still can keep the skin moisturized and against aging.

One girl of the group shared that during the time they investigated and did experience, they met many problems due to limited budget and lack of time. However, they were supported by their teacher, Dr. Nguyen Van Tu, Institute of Science and Engineering Materials, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi.

I really appreciate this product because of its high applicability. And also, if it is put into use, many rivers in Vietnam will suffer less toxic domestic wastewater. These students really did great job of recycling.

Thao, I would definitely wish to buy one of those soaps. Nowadays, soaps made out of natural components are being popular, and I guess rice soaps will gain fame if sold in markets. Thanks for sharing such nice info and have a great day!

this is amazing! so until now, the rice husk was disposed of and was not used at all? if so, this is even more amazing! Though i think rice husk is from nature and has no and not at all damage to the environment, i still think it much impressive that all this idea came from a young student! Thanks for sharing!
