The use of renewable energy to replace energy sources that cannot be refurbished, such as petroleum, is spread into various sectors. One of them is the use of renewable energy to substitute for vehicle fuel. GESITS (Garasindo Electric Scooter ITS) is an electric motor with electric power developed by Garasindo and ITS. Almost all of the components used were local, except for the battery. The design of GESITS is a collaboration of the some majors in the ITS such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics engineering, and product design. Reporting from ITS Online, GESITS Team Leader Dr. Muhammad Nur Yuniarto explained that the mileage of the electric motor is between 80 to 100 kilometers on one filling of the battery. Duration of charging the battery takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Although not yet mass produced, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) has promised to production of GESITS. In addition many has interested in GESITS, such as PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom), which has ordered 5000 units. Hey, I just watched the video you linked. Looks fancy! Tell us more about it if you happen to have a chance to ride it! It's good that the market trend is tilting toward green technology as we can see from the advent of green cars and housing, etc. cheers!

Mass production will a greater step towards mass adoption of the technology hence mitigating climate change

This sounds like an interesting concept. I am happy to hear about this development. I really hope the final research is complete and that this is ready for mass production for the public. Great report.

Electric vehicles like these which are planned/ already being produced are one of the best way to reduce reliance on fossil fuel based energy. More and more people should use transports driven by renewable energy-to reduce carbon emission and fight global warming and climate change. Thanks for sharing details about GESITS.
