The Indian Govt. would adopt a ''Zero Tolerence'' policy towards the waste being discharged into Ganga river.
This major step has been taken to reduce the amount of waste in the most famous and holy river of India .
The polluted water in this holy river was on rise . SO the government will have to take some strict measures gaisnt it .
"There are some issues related to Ganga which are so concerning, tanneries being one of them, in which one has to be maintain zero tolerance. Neither treated nor treated (water). Government is thinking about all these issues and working in the right direction," said the Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave
"We should not talk about saving Ganga but we should talk of serving it. Ganga has been there for lakhs of years and will continue to do so. If you use wrong words, your approach will change," he added .
He also said that the society very much needs to involve in this issue and do their part in cleaning the river .

Thanks for posting Tanverjit! I've been to India and of course to the river as well. My family did this boat trip thing, it was fantastic with the sun setting to the west and people washing up their bodies at the riverside. Overall, it was great, but you're right that it'd be much better if the river was clean :D Thanks!

Tanverjit, I have never realized that the Ganga river is suffering from environmental pollution. It is also my first time to hear that it is the most holy river in India. I hope the river could be recovered through the policy. Thanks for sharing, and next time do not forget to site the reference!

I watched an afterlife documentary which featured the river. It is really polluted and the government is really thinking in the right direction to secure the river.
